Why are nerds/geeks obsessed with Japanese culture?
Q. I'm not saying that all are, but the majority have some kind of fascination with Japanese. I don't understand why either. Don't use the excuse that Japanese people are smart and that is why nerds gravitate towards that language because Chinese people are also smart. Plus, the Japanese are very unfriendly to outsiders. Although nerds may idolize them and their language, the Japanese use derogatory terms (gaijin) to describe anyone who is not Japanese. Why isn't Chinese a more popular language among nerds? Chinese is a more economically and politically useful language than Japanese and plus, the Japanese copied the Chinese writing system. I may be a little biased towards Chinese because I speak semi-fluent Chinese.

Computer nerds, geeks, w/e: why does blinking cursor not always indicate time to type?
Q. Usually when the vertical line at the point where your typing has a visible effect is blinking, you use the keyboard and characters result. Why sometimes do you have to bring the arrow to it and mouse-click again in order for characters to register?

My Friends are nerds/geeks what should i do?
Q. Before I never really noticed this, but ever since this Summer i've been realizing that my friends are all geeks/nerds. They spend almost 80% of their day playing computer games. We only hang out like once a day for an hour and even then all they can talk about are their rpg games and their anime. Summer's half over and we haven't even gone somewhere to hang out once. (The 1 hour that we hang out each day is like only walking around in the park talking so it doesn't really count) We haven't gone to the movies, or the beach or any other place people might go with their friends during the summer. All we've done is walk around talking about more nerd stuff. What should I do? I want to be able to hang out more, but it's hard with these friends. [cont.]
