The truth is though, is that these subcultures are really quite different. Dorks are those semi funny/loser-ish people who try pretty often to be funny and sometimes try to fit in. Because of trying to fit in, they might not always know what they are talking about in their jokes, which can lead to disastrous effects. Dorks can be good people, but often suffer from low self esteem. That low self esteem is what often drives them to fit in with a group. Nerds are a subculture of people who are usually more intelligent than average. But a nerd does not have to be, as long as they can be tech savvy.
